Me Voy a Media Agua

Hello Everyone!

So, I got transferred to Media Agua San Juan, and I’m super excited to get to work. The area has been open for about a year, and they have had a lot of success here. My comp is from Buenos Aires, se llama Elder Tartaglia. I think we are going to get along just great. Super chill guy, he has 24 years, and has tats all over his arms. He was inactive until he was 21, after which he cleaned up and wanted to serve. If that’s not a super cool guy, I don’t know who is.

Leaving Bermejo was the worst thing ever. Norma and Lucas were crying like babies, along with Antonia and Celeste. Antonia asked if she could give me a hug, and I just about said yes, but I had to tell her no.

Antonia brought her whole family to stake conference, and it was super awesome. They should have their baptism this sabado without me.........lame sauce. Lucas will get the Priesthood next week because of stake conference.

Compre un matecito!!!! So ya I’m drinking the yerba con los pibes.

I’m doing good and I’m super hyped to get to work.

Love yall, Chauuu

¡¡Perros en la pensión!!

Wow this last week came and went real quick.

We found a kid named Alejandro, 18 years old, who has a lot of faith. The kid told us he prays for 3 hours every night......not too sure about that one, but hey maybe it’s true lol, I can’t even pray for an hour. Super nice kid, we taught him the Plan de Salvación, and he thought it was pretty tight. Vamos a ver con este chico.

Norma, my dear convert, drove Antonia to church this last Sunday, so that was wonderful. Antonia, soft spoken as she is, is meeting a lot of the members, and I think she’s gonna bring her kids to church soon.

Lucas, our other convert, is doing well. We shared the video of Elder Holland about staying in the lines, and how important it is for us to be safe and stay in the bounds which the Lord has set for us. He spends a lot of time on his smart phone, just like everyone, and we just wanted to make sure he was being “smart” with all that stuff jaja. I think he felt something because this last Sunday, he told us that he feels ready to receive the Priesthood! Super cool! He has an interview with the branch president this Tuesday.

Oh ya, so the reason I put dogs in the pench as the header is because we have a dog that lives in front of our house, and we invited him in yesterday, and we just chilled with him for a little while. It was great. But I still hate the dogs here. I’ll send a pic.

Super quick, we have this older sister Julia in the branch and she’s the sweetest. Sadly, it got super cold the other day, and her health took a turn for the worst. We stopped by to make sure she was okay, and she seemed to be doing better, but she can hardly walk. We gave her a blessing, and she was crying and stuff, and man it was really really sad. We have plans to pass by again this week to read the scriptures with her, she’s super lonely because her husband died last year. I should also say that even with all her health problems, she fed us lunch. She’s a great example of someone who puts the work of the Lord first. We were very grateful. After lunch, we decided that we should try and help her out a little bit by helping her make some breaded chicken thingys called milanesas, which she sells in a little store that she has in her house. Guess that’s a little bit against the rules because she sells them, but it was just to help her out a little bit.

Thanks for the emails this week! Shout out to the fam!!! Love y’all!

Intercambios y Más Perros

Hola Hola Hola,

Aight so this last week went by pretty quick, praise the Lord on high!

We had exchanges with a few elders, so that was sweet. We’ve got two elders who are in my district that will be going home in 2 weeks, and they were trunky as all get out when we had exchanges with them, but it was tight. I was with Elder Gomez from Ecuador, and I learned some cool stuff from him. We also had exchanges with the elders from Santa Ana, and I got to work with Elder Boss, an elder from my MTC group. Super great. He made me something called an empajor, I’ll send a pic, but it’s pretty much super bad for you, but way freaking good. Loved it.

Anyway, we met a lovely little couple in one of the most “dangerous” (it’s not dangerous) barrios in our area, and man they’re so sweet. Their names are Sol and Diego. Turns out he already had a Book of Mormon that he had found in the street, and had already read a little bit. So crazy. Anyway, we taught them the Plan de Salvación and I shared a little bit about my brother Nolan, and it was super special. Turns out they both have parents who had passed away when they were young so it was pretty crazy. I know I was prompted to share that story with them.

Tambien, Antonia, a lady who we’ve taught a few times but is super unreliable, came to church! And we were like, ummmmmm awesome! It was super funny because after sacrament meeting, Norma, my first dear sweet convert/Argentine grandmother, came over and was like, “Elder, is she new?” and I was like yes, and she was so excited for her, and she made sure she felt comfortable and taken care of. It made me so happy, Norma is seriously the best. On Wednesday, we were walking by her house and she came running outside with a stick of butter, and she was like “Elders, I got you some butter to eat with your bread!” and we were like......what? She’s like 52, and she was literally running after us with a stick of butter jajaja it was so funny.

Anyways, hope all is well back home. Thanks for your prayers!!!

Tortas de Hoja y Perros

Whut it is fam,

This week was just about the same as last week with just a few twists so hold on to your children.....it’s about to get real crazy.

Another rough week with little success. It’s like everyone is Catholic or something, oh wait.........jaja err’body es Católico.

Yesterday we were walking back to the apartment, just like any normal day, and like five dogs showed up and started freaking out at us. So like always, we just started walking in the other direction, just like anyone would do. But for some reason, one of these maggot-infested beasties thought it’d be a good idea to start chewing on my ankle!!!! It was super quick, but the little demon gave me a few marks on my left ankle with his teeth. It scared me more than anything, and my comp was like bro you aight? And I said “That’s it, I’m moving to Sparta!” Hercules quote jeje. Thankfully, it didn’t draw any blood, so I don’t need to check for like infections or whatever lol don’t worry pops;).

We met a super sweet lady named Beatrice, no idea how to spell her name lol, and she told us all about how her life was super hard growing up. I guess she was violated by her father when she was like 6, and then again by her brother a few years later. She then ran away at age 13 in search of a better life. I didn’t understand everything that she was telling us at first, but it was still way way sad. And even after all this crazy crazy stuff, she was like, hey I know that God loves me, I just don’t really understand my purpose in life. And we were like.......well shoot, we can help you with that! We shared a little bit with her, and she wasn’t all that receptive, because she doesn’t believe that God gives direction to mortal men, and she also hasn’t read the Bible, so she didn’t really understand the concept of prophets, but I still think she felt the spirit because she said she’d be down to listen some more. Wahooo!

Sorry I dont a whole lot to share this week, again.....I’ll try to be better.

Love y’all,

Elder Anderson
