Not the homecoming we all envisioned but joyous non the less! We were told we would be contacted if Austin would be coming on the date and time set. The date and time had been changed a few times so Ryan just kept checking the phone....nothing. So we all three go for a walk around 7:30 pm and about 8 pm Ryan gets a cell call, "Dad where are you"? We are all listening and can't belief it! It took Ryan a minute to register "Who is this'?...., but I at once am thinking; "Elder Austin got home and no one let us know-he's alone at the airport"! What a terrible feeling for parents! Thankfully we are almost home from our walk. We dash to the house and within minutes we are on our way to the airport. We have posters, firework plans, family gathering plans....everything ended up jumbled and bumbled but ....hey.....he got home safe and sound so PERFECT homecoming! Nice masks don't you think? Hardly anyone at the airport to wear them for but we wanted to keep the mission rules! There were a few people milling around but basically Austin was the last missionary to be picked up...sob! One for the books! However I'd like to edit that chapter big time! (All the captions for these photos are from Mom).
