El Bautismo de la Florencia

This week, our dear friend Florencia was baptized by her re-activated father Miguel. The service was super great. Miguel bore his testimony at the very end of the service on the restoration of the church. Super powerful. He was a second counselor in the presidency of the branch San Luis 15 years ago, if I understood it right. And after a while, for one reason or another, he stopped going to church with his family. After yeeeeaaarrrrrsssss of the missionaries knocking on their door and members trying to reach out, Miguel made the decision to come back after speaking with the bishop. We, the missionaries, began to teach Florencia, his daughter, who had no idea who Jesus was let alone how to pray or why. She made amazing progress, and now is the newest member of the Pringles ward. Such a blessing for us to be able to participate in the work of salvation for this wonderful family. Next monday they´ll be going to the temple as a family to do baptisms for the dead with their daughter. METASSSSSSS.

Anyway, a lot of missionaries from our zone have gone to work in other parts of the mission, and today we´ll be receiving all the newbies. We hyped. I’ll be with my wonderful Brazilian Elder Siqueira for another transfer!

Welp, everybody's happy happy happy out here. I’m trying to finish up the New Testament so I can fully focus on reading the Book of Mormon. Still haven’t been able to get my hands on a Come Follow Me yet......*smoke coming out of my ears*.....rrrrrr jaja. Y’all who have the app on your phone best be using it to read Come Follow Me.

Quick Update

Hello Family and Friends,

This last week went by super slow not gonna lie, but we’re preparing for a baptism this next week and we’re excited.

Our ward is the largest ward in the mission, and being so large, there are a lot of things that we can do to try and help it grow even more. The trick is getting the members to participate with the work. If you have any ideas for ward activities, shoot me an email.

Lots of great things happened this week. Sacia, the young girl who spoke to us in the street last week who was less active and wanted to return to the church, is going to give a small message in the baptism next week. She's so great, such a miracle for us.

Super Quick

Aight, super rapido,

Had a cool miracle Saturday in the afternoon. We were getting ready to head back to casa when a young girl stopped us in the street and told us that she had been baptized about a year ago but had stopped going to church and started making some pretty bad decisions. Anyway, she told us that she felt the need to talk to us so that she could come back to church. Long story short, she was able to come to church with some members that live super close to her, and she totally bore her testimony in sacrament meeting. It was sweet. So cool how God always puts us in just the right place at just the right time.

Andino, el Hermano Preparado

Gooooooooood morning family and friends,

Sorry for not writing last week, I was doing more important things...........naaaaaa just kidding jaja. Y’all are the most important obviously........jeje.

Okay. Guys, I have a miracle to share.

My first week here in San Luis we spoke with a man in the street named Andino. We only spoke for a moment, and he kindly gave us his address, then we left. Super quick. End of the week rolls around, and my comp tells me, bro we gotta go contact that nice grandpa that we found the other day, and I was like, aight. We showed up to his house and he was totally there! We taught him about baptism, and he accepted the invitation to be baptized. The next day he came to church all by himself, having to walk about a mile or so (the man has 76 years....). Anyway, it was a miracle that the man made it to church. Turns out he grew up in the sticks way out in the fields raising sheep and llamas. He reminds me a ton of my grandpa Dewey, they have the same hands jaja. Anyway we stopped by his house a few times and he accepted a baptismal date. Within 3 days he was already in 1 nephi 17. This last weekend Andino was baptized! He even went and bought himself a nice bright pink tie and a new white shirt to come to church in. We love him so much, and are really excited to help him continue learning and growing in his testimony.

I'm really enjoying my time here in San Luis. Our bishop here in the Pringles ward asked me on Saturday to give a talk the following sunday. Mas vale that I told him that I would love to. I ended up sharing my mom’s story about my brother Nolan from the 2008 March Ensign. I invite you all to read it if you haven't. Shout out to my momma!!!! Many of the members told me that the story touched their hearts and that many of them remembered having read the story years ago. Mom! The members knew about you before they knew me!! jaja It was so wonderful being able to share my testimony together with my mom’s that God truly answers our prayers. Love you momma.

Anyway, having a grand ole time out here in “the middle of nowhere”--William Clark Anderson......don't let me catch you hating on my Argentina jaja jokes.

Oh ya, super quick, guess what! The tia abuela of Messi got baptized in our mission!!!! Not sure how the relation works, but like, we are that much closer to baptizing Messi guys. lol Aguante la obra.

San Luis

Hello!

First off, San Luis is soooo different. Nothing like Mendoza. The weather is wonderful, always a nice breeze in the afternoon to cool ya off after a long day in the sun.

I’m now working more or less in the city of San Luis centro, but we also work in other sectors outside of the city. We´re fixing up the bikes so that we can speed around town to our appointments quicker, so that’s gonna be a great blessing.

Quick story, we spoke with a young woman who was sitting in the street the other day and ended up having an interesting experience. The moment we explained that we were missionaries, she started crying, but bad. She then told us that the previous night, she had been praying to God for some sort of help or comfort because of a horrible situation that happened to her younger sister. She told us that she could tell that we were sent from God to help her and console her. Sadly, she decided to not give us her direction, so we won't be able to go by her house to teach her family, but we invited her to church. Super sad that even when God gives someone a straight and direct answer to their problem, they don’t accept it. Igual, we were grateful for the chance to see God guiding us to his suffering children. I know that God loves us, and is willing to help us if we’re willing to accept his guidance, even when we don't feel like following it.

New Years, New Area, New Comp, 20 Years......

Holy cheese! I’m 20.......wussup.

Hello everyone and happy New Years. Also, thanks for the birthday wishes, y’all are great! Love ya!

Welp, my wonderful time in Las Heras has come to a close, and I cried like a wee lamb during my testimony. That ward is so wonderful, and the members are fabulous. I was able to see people make grand changes in their lives during my time there, and I'll never forget it. Leo came to church in a suit and I about shouted, “Hot dang boi, let's get you out on the mish!” jaja I love him so much, poor thing started crying when I told him I was leaving for San Luis. That man is my brother, and I really hope that he can help his family get to know the church as well. Also gonna miss Elder Swiderski like crazy, freaking love that man.

Anyway, ya I’m in San Luis now. Look it up on the map. I feel like I'm in a different country now. Its so weird here. Kind of freaking out. My comp is named Siqueira from Brazil......thats right Hayden and Clark, imma be learning some more Portuguese! It's gonna be sweet. I'm really hyped to get working out here in San Luis.

Navidad and More

Hellllooooooo,

Bueno, super sorry for the bad emailing. We went to a super cool spot last week for P-day, and I wasn't able to write a whole lot. I’ll send pics to make up for it.

Our dear friend Leo was baptized as of two weeks ago! It was super special, and many of his family members came and supported him, which led to us being able to share a lunch with them and a small lesson as well. WE OUT HERE PLANTING SEEDS MY FRIENDS.

We spent Christmas with our bishop and his family, I love them soooooo much. Just want to take them home with me jaja.

Something very interesting that they do here for Christmas that really isn't all that interesting at all is everybody, and I mean everybody, buys a ton of beer and wine, and just drinks til the cow comes home. I'm not sure if it’s like that everywhere else besides Utah or not, but Christmas here is nothing like home. But thats okay, didn’t come here for Christmas presents jaja.

We found 12 new people this last week who all seem to be really wonderful people that want to learn more. Among them are Matias and Milagros, a young couple that have a baby on the way. For a few weeks we helped Matias wash a few cars as a little service, and from that we were able to teach him and his wife about baptism. They wanted to baptize their baby and were looking for a church to do it. We explained that baptism is for the cleaning of sins and that their soon to be born son is and will be unaccountable for his sins until he can actually make his own decisions. They seemed to really believe what we taught them, and we hope to see them progress. As always, they need to get married first lol.

Love you all so much! I know that Christ lives, and that He is guiding His church in these last days through his living prophet Russell M. Nelson. I also know that as a missionary, I have the chance to change people’s lives everyday, but it doesn’t take a missionary tag to do that. GO MAKE A NEW FRIEND! GO HELP SOMEBODY! Love you all!
